Engaged (Since 10/5/14)

Let me preface the wedding planning posts that are to come.... WE ARE ENGAGED!

I am getting to marry the love of my life and I couldn't be more excited! We have been together for almost 5 years and best friends for 6 years. Stephen Brandow is the most amazing thing in my life and he FINALLY proposed... hehe

October 5, 2014 started off with brunch with his parents at Bonefish Grill. I was in Lilly, obviously (you'll learn that about me; I love Lilly). The whole time Stephen and I talked about the picnic we were going on today. We had planned to go on a picnic for over a week and I was so excited to go. At this point my suspicions were not raised at all, going on a picnic was totally normal, because we picnic all the time!

When we got to World's Fair Park here in Knoxville, TN (my hometown) and set up our Kate Spade picnic blanket we realized we had set up right at the finish line for a Race against Cancer. Stephen looked a little disappointed, but I loved it... I got to people watch while I ate pimento cheese (nom). I kept asking Stephen why he wasn't eating. He said I'm not that hungry (I should have known then that something was up.... hehe) Stephen tried to get me to stand up and look at people and I kept saying, "no I'm comfortable, I'll just sit here."

Then... with me seated, he asked if I remembered the last time we were in World's Fair Park. He asked if I remembered what we talked about (it was almost a year prior when we went on a run) and he seemed really intent on telling me something. He said we had talked about our future and about getting married. That day, he told me, "one day I will put a ring on your hand and we will spend forever together."

From that day on I referred to Stephen as "One Day," but on October 5, 2014 Stephen told me we don't have to wait on one day any longer, today is our day. As he finished saying his speech he pulled out my OVAL TACORI. I was speechless and crying - I have never been so excited in my life. I GET TO MARRY MY BEST FRIEND!! I was so shocked and excited that I was silent for quite some time. I guess since I was so shocked he hadn't put the ring on my finger just yet so he asked if he could put my rock on my finger! I said all I could think of "YES! Put in on my finger now!!"

Then from across the bridge two of my very best friends Elizabeth (Wei Wei // Biggie // MOH) and Taylor (Tay // Red Sox Fan // Bridesmaid) came out and enjoyed some champagne and took some amazing pictures (thanks Tay!) -- They had brought me bridal magazines and had crafted a wedding magazine holder for my desk.

After we celebrated together Stephen and I called everyone we knew to tell them our news. We spent that night at my parent's house where my mom was jumping up and down with excitement when we arrived. I guess the secret she had been holding had built up a lot of excitement, and it was finally out! She gave us four Waterford champagne glasses as an engagement present (she's too sweet). My mom and I then began looking at the magazines from Wei Wei & Tay.

And with that, the planning begins.... :)

Happy Pink Sunday - Lilly + Target

                                                            Happy Pink Sunday!

My day started with a Target gift card from my wonderful fiancĂ© that said "Happy Lilly Day".  It's safe to say at that point I knew today would be an amazing day.

My fiancé, MOH & I went to two Targets to get our goodies at 6:30 am.. withOUT coffee. The best find all day was the Sea Urchin halter in the children's section.. Apparently they thought it was a girls dress??

I am MORE than pleased with my Lilly haul. I placed at least 5 online orders last night. (I really can't confirm how many because I was so excited as I was ordering) -- In store was pretty crazy and girls were getting so mad at everyone. We were 5th in line and girl that was like 30th in line started cursing at us because of what we got......

My favorite patterns from the Lilly + Target collaboration were:
1. My Fans
2. Noise Posey
3. Giraffeeey (sadly didn't get anything in this pattern, but I will!)
4. Sea Urchin

IMO -- Everything ran pretty TTS. However, I sized down in the Palazzo pants.
I also think the shifts from the Lilly + Target collab are the softest Lilly shifts I have had or tried on.

What were your favorite patterns??
